ARCHIMEDE (ARCHItecture in Moon Environment to Demonstrate wireless Energy transmission) is a mission concept developed during the Space Mission Analysis and Design course in Politecnico di Milano together with a team of 11 brave space engineers.
The goal is the design of a Lunar demo mission with the objective to demonstrate and assess an Space Based Solar Power for wireless electrical power supply of lunar assets both on lunar surface and in lunar orbit.
A concept for a high power generation architecture for laser-based energy transmission is presented to achieve step forward in the plans for future of lunar exploration.
